What Is and Is Not An Emergency

  • Fire
  • Crime in Progress
  • Breathing Problems
  • Choking
  • Unconsciousness
  • Poisoning
  • Drowning
  • Stabbing
  • Other life-threatening situations
  • Minor accidents (no injuries)
  • Barking dogs
  • Burglarized property
  • Power outage during a storm
  • Someone selling drugs
  • Loud parties
  • Weather and local conditions
  • Keys locked in vehicle
  • Runaways
  • Legal advice

If your call is a non-emergency, please call the proper non-emergency seven digit telephone number found in the phone book or thru directory assistance.  But if you are in doubt, call 911 and we will help anyway we can.

In An Emergency Remember To...

  1. Dial 9-1-1
  2. Stay Calm and speak Clearly.
  3. State which emergency agency you need:
    • Police
    • Fire
    • EMS
  4. State your emergency
  5. State your address - it is VERY important that we verify the address.
  6. STAY ON THE LINE!!! DO NOT HANG UP until the operator tells you.
If you can, stay by the phone in case the 911 dispatcher needs to call you back.
